Fun in the snow

Spring Break Blizzard

Here are some pictures of the blizzard we just had. It started snowing Thursday about noon. It was a heavy wet snow too. Then as it got colder later in the day the wind was blowing and so was the snow. We woke up Friday morning to snow drifts and a good foot of snow in some places. The cable and internet went out so it was kinda fun staying in and playing board games and watching movies.

Motorcycle Madness

Uncle Matt has a cool motorcycle and was gracious enough to take all the kids for rides...which they loved!! Except Liam...he didn't want anything to do with it...which is odd because he usually loves motorcycles. He got on it later when it was quiet and stationary in the garage :) Maybe he knows how Matt drives :) And for some reason Evan and Sarah are convinced that they need a motorcycle now...thanks Uncle Matt :)

Cute Cousins

This past weekend my mom and I took the kids to my brothers house in Grand Junction. It's about 5 1/2 hours away. We had a great weekend!! It was like 75 degrees there and just beautiful!! The kids played outside on the trampoline, we went to a park, got some ice cream and just hung out together. It was fun and relaxing. Here's some pictures of the kiddos.

Resource Site

I came across a great website the other day...maybe some of you have already heard of it but I hadn't so I thought I'd share=) The site is www.sugardoodle.net. I printed out a cute General Conference booklet for my kids from here and there's lots of ideas for any of you in Primary. There's clipart and FHE ideas too. Just a good site to bookmark for extra resources. You'll have to check it out. =D

Great Recipe

My Mother-In-Law gave me this recipe last week and it is super easy and really good so I thought I'd share =)

INGREDIENTS:

2 cans of pie filling (any flavor...I used cherry and want to try peach next)
1 box of yellow cake mix
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 stick of butter or margarine

Heat oven to 350. Spray 9x13 baking dish with Pam. Dump both cans of pie filling in dish. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pie filling. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over dry cake mix. Cut up stick of butter and place on top. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

It's kinda like a cobbler...the cake mix gets crunchy...it is so good tho' especially with ice cream!!

P.S. Thanks to Marie for this great recipe ! :)

Liam and the snowy day

Oh man, I wish I could go out in the snow...it's so pretty...maybe if I get a hat and some gloves...
What mom? Are you saying I don't look cute in Sarah's hat and one glove that I put on myself?

I'm gonna go...

Yessss!! Success!! I love the snow!!

Daylight Savings

Man, I had such a hard time waking up today. I think I like it better in the fall when we gain an hour instead of losing one. I seem to be able to wake up better when it's lighter rather than dark. And now instead of the kids going to bed at 7:30, they're not ready for bed until 8:30. Some nights I could even have them in bed at 7:00!! =) Not now. Now we all have to readjust and get used to the time change. I really hate daylight savings time.

Overnighter

Evan went on his first overnight campout last Friday with the scouts. Since he's still 11, Bill got to go with him. =D They went to a Boy Scout Camp which was nice because instead of sleeping in tents they had bunk houses with woodburning stoves in them. Good thing too because it was like 5 degrees that night. Evan had a great time and can't wait to go again!!
