We're moving!!

Woohoo!!  We move into our house on Fort Carson Friday!!  The people that were living there decided to stay an extra week so instead of getting the keys last Friday, we'll get them in a couple of days :)  It's been so nice staying with my parents but we are very anxious to get into our house and make it ours.  We get the keys at 8am and we'll do a quick walk through because our household goods are also being delivered the same day.  It'll be a busy weekend and probably a busy month:)  I'll try to post pictures soon.  Hopefully nothing's damaged :)  Wish us luck!!

January??

It has been so unseasonably warm here this past week. We actually got to about 75 yesterday!! This thermometer reads a liittle high =) I almost feel like I'm back in Alabama enjoying a mild winter. I think it's just the calm before the storm though. We're supposed to get snow this weekend. Three things you can't do without here: Shades...the sun it so bright and intense being at 6000 feet you have to have sunglasses, Lotion and Chapstick...it is so dry. My poor hands are so dry they crack. And your lips just crave chapstick on them. So sometimes humidity can be a good thing =)

Garden of the Gods

Here we are at Garden of the Gods...it was a beautiful day when we went but soooo cold, especially when you weren't in the sun. So we didn't stay too long. It is so pretty there. There are paths that wind in and out of these massive rock formations that you just walk along and enjoy the scenery =) Can you spot the "Kissing Camels"?

SCHOOL!!

Evan and Sarah love their new school!! They have adapted so well and seem to be fitting right in. The school is beautiful!! Here are a few pictures from their first day. I love all the flags going across the ceiling. I was upstairs getting ready to go down and the sun was coming in across the flags so I just had to take a picture. =)

Evan read to some of the special needs kids the other day and did a really good job. One of my mom's neighbors works at Patriot a few days a week and she called to tell us that the special needs teacher was really impressed with Evan and said that he was so good with the little boy he read too...he had the boy laughing and reading along too. I was so proud of Evan!!

I am so thankful for strong, resililient kids who have been such troopers throughout this move and have been so good about going to a new school, leaving old friends and making new ones!! Way to go guys!!

Fort Carson

Here are a few pictures from Fort Carson. The mountain in all the pictures is Cheyenne mountain. Our housing area is over to the left in the second picture. And our house to be is the one with the garage open. There are still people in it right now, but we'll get the keys on January 23rd!! Woohoo!! It is so beautiful being nestled up against the mountains. What a view, huh??

We got snow!!

YAY!! We finally got some snow!! It started to snow Saturday afternoon and didn't stop until Sunday. It was a very light and dry snow. Soooo pretty!! It looked like the fake snow that is all sparkly. I love the snow!! The kids had fun playing in it too, but not for too long because it was like 8 degrees outside...Brrrr =D
