Camping

Our summer vacation this year was camping at Taylor Resevoir which is about 30 miles north of Gunnison, CO. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking!! We had my parents, 2 of my brothers and their wives, us of course and then my brothers daughter. It was so much fun just being together!! My Dad is a master chef with the Dutch oven and he and my mom cooked some amazing food that you wouldn't usually have while camping =) We did a low country boil, foil dinners, bbq chicken and skillet potatoes to name a few and some of our desserts included a pineapple upsidedown cake and a chocolate cherry cake and of course smores =) We camped for 5 days and 4 nights, went on a hike, fished, played in the lake, rode bikes, played cards and went for walks around the campground. It was so nice and relaxing. We even got a couple of good thunderstorms one day. It was a great time and so much fun being in the great outdoors with family!! I can't wait to go again!! A big thank you to my parents who planned everything and provided pretty much everything!! You guys are the greatest!!Posted by Picasa

The scenery was so pretty and green...the pictures aren't the greatest 'cause I took them while driving =) But hopefully you can kinda see how beautiful it was =)

A day at the park

Today my mom and I took the kids to the America the Beautiful Park...it's just in downtown Colorado Springs. They have a huge monument that sprays water down and makes a fountain to play in. There is also a playground area and lots of grass, benches and a gazebo. It's really a nice park. We spent most of the time in the fountain of course. =) It was a beautiful day and so nice to be outside.
